Reuven Robby Govrin is an attorney by profession and the author of Above a Gathering Storm (2024).

A graduate of a storytelling course at the Israeli Stage School of Acting, each of Robby’s books combines some of his areas of interest: aviation, history, and the mysterious nature of human relationships. His plots are based on professional and historical information and are characterized by dramatic, surprising, and unexpected endings.

Robby lives with his wife and children in Israel. He enjoys long-distance trail running and ultralight piloting and is an avid reader of books on military history and aviation.

Wood, Luck & Survival was Robby's first book, published in Hebrew in 2013 and in English in 2018. The book describes the journey of the author and his brother to discover the story of their father, Max Gutkin, and his family during the Holocaust in Latvia.  The book traces their harrowing journey from work camp to work camp, a terrible choice that the father is forced to make, the aftermath of the war in Europe, and finally, their arrival in Israel.

Robby's second book, Dame, published in Hebrew in 2016, gives a glimpse into the world of light sport aircraft and the experiences and relationships of ultralight pilots. It describes an investigation into a microlight crash, which reveals the underlying circumstances that cast doubt on whether it was an accident at all.

Robby's third book, Nabaa Al Safa – Lebanon sticks to your soul, published in Hebrew in 2022, is a fascinating journey of four Israeli soldiers sent in June 1982 on an intelligence tour in Lebanon, and how, almost forty years later, they are still paying a mental price. In this story of leadership, self-confidence and sacrifice, they face paralyzing fear, mental breakdown and shell shock, and overcome them.

Above a Gathering Storm is Robby's fourth book.
