Dvir Kariv wrote the best-selling Hebrew book, "Yitzchak," the basis for this work. Kariv grew up as an activist and youth leader in Israel's Labor party, served in the Israel Defense Forces Intelligence Unit and worked in the Israeli Internal Intelligence Agency (Shin Bet) for 22 years. As an intelligence analyst in the Unit to Preserve Israeli Democracy he was charged with preventing violent acts by Jewish extremists in the Holy Land. Dvir was the first Shin Bet worker to speak with Yigal Amir after Amir assassinated Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin. He and his wife, Yifat, have four children and today Dvir leads, "Choose Democracy," an educational organization that promotes democracy, freedom of speech, tolerance and unity.
