Orna Zaig

אורנה צאיג

A daughter of immigrants, Orna Zaig’s childhood was full of stories about life in Baghdad: the scents, colors, sounds, and community that shaped her desire for that time and place.

After a long military career, she began researching the Jewish community in Iraq as she dove into her family’s history in the region. Her findings are the foundation of the story in her debut novel, The Dressmaker of Baghdad.
