Prof. Yaron Ilan
Dr. Yaron Ilan is Director of the Department of Medicine at the Hebrew University-Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel and a former vice dean of its medical school. He did his post-graduate training at Yeshiva University’s Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York and was a visiting professor at Harvard University. His main area of research is development of immunomodulatory drugs for fatty liver disease, diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease and liver cancer. The owner of dozens of patents, Dr. Ilan has had more than 260 articles published by medical journals. He has invented a number of drugs and medical devices which are being developed by pharmaceutical firms and has founded several biotech companies. One of these, Oberon Sciences, advances the use of randomness to improve life efficacy.
