Ami Ben Bassat is a science author, blogger, and innovation consultant. His writing covers a wide range of topics from a personal and unusual point of view. Ben Bassat has held senior civil service positions, which included consulting senior government members, and has consulted for large technology companies. He was also a teaching fellow in the Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship MBA program at Tel Aviv University. A certified skeptic and compulsively curious person, he frequently travels to remote places in Israel and abroad to satisfy his passion for observing the unusual.

Ben Bassat has written Odyssey Through the Universe—A Scientific Journey into the Strange and Unknown and Journey to Intelligence (with Hagai Netzer). His blog “Edge” (in Hebrew), which discussed topics as diverse as space, science and technology, history, and the internet, was launched in the early 2000s and is considered one of Israel’s most popular scientific blogs. More recently, he has been running a blog called “A World Without Boxes.”

The Crowded Cosmos (also with Hagai Netzer) is his third book.
