The orphaned children of the ghetto give Ania precisely what she needs – a purpose. They fill the void left by the absence of her family, and she, in turn, whispers magical stories of a fairytale world where there is no war.

But when word of her sister finally comes from the terrifying Treblinka extermination camp, Ania must make a fateful choice. Will she be strong enough to make the ultimate sacrifice to save her children?
