Rachel Madar was born in 1954. A longtime resident of Moshav Arbel in northern Galilee, Rachel is married, a mother of five, and a grandmother. She worked for over thirty years as a science educator and teacher trainer. At the age of 45, she began writing and has since published three poetry collections and two works of prose. Since her debut, her poetry has been featured in numerous literary journals.

She holds a master’s degree in geography and environmental studies from the University of Haifa, and lectures to diverse audiences in Israel and abroad.
