Meidan Barr is a Lieutenant Colonel (reserves) in the IDF, a licensed attorney, and a commercial airline pilot. Drafted into service in 1991, he was trained as a rescue helicopter pilot and served as an active pilot during the Lebanon conflict in various leadership positions. In 1997, following a complicated rescue mission over the Litany River, Barr and his team were recognized by the IAF commander and the IDF chief of staff for their unusual and extraordinary actions under fire.

Today, Barr is the chairman of the Israeli Pilots’ Union and continues to train the future generations of pilots nationwide.
