Devorah Shafrir Keret lives among the vast open spaces and green pastures of the Israeli Galilee, near Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee. The peaceful and serene atmosphere fuels her introspective writing and painting.

A firm believer in constructive education and the active learning process, Shafrir Keret was a high school teacher who taught literature and biblical studies, founded and ran several education programs, and supervised a program designed to assist and incorporate new immigrants into the education system.

Devorah gives courses on creative and intuitive writing, creative thinking, and different forms of artistic expression; she has also chronicled the lives of several Holocaust survivors. She holds several academic degrees in biblical studies, history, film and television studies, and group facilitation combined with art.

Devorah is a mother of three, a grandmother of seven, and a sworn fan of long trips – she plans on returning to her journey across Australia as soon as possible.
